4 Stitch the corner units to the quilt center (Diagram 7). Trim the outer edges straight and even.

5 Measure the length of the quilt through the center and trim two of the 1½” × 65” pale blue print strips to that measurement. Stitch them to the long sides of the quilt.

6 Measure the width of the quilt including the borders through the center of the quilt. Trim the remaining 1½” × 65” pale blue print strips to that measurement and stitch them to the short sides of the quilt.

7 Cut the reserved batik print strips into 1¼” × 11” pieces and stitch them together end-to-end to make a long middle border. This border should be approximately 200” in length.

8 Measure the length of the quilt including the borders. Cut 2 pieces of the long middle border to that length and sew them to the sides of the quilt.

9 In the same manner, measure, trim, and stitch middle borders to the top and bottom of the quilt.

10 In the same manner as for the inner borders, measure, trim, and stitch two of the 6½” × 75” pale blue print strips to the sides of the quilt.

11 Measure, trim, and stitch the remaining 6½” × 75” pale blue print strips to the top and bottom of the quilt.

12 Quilt as desired. Bind the quilt using the 2” × 44” pale blue print strips, following the binding instructions on page 17 in the “Top Tips” chapter.
